Geometry: Today we went over homework problems that required us to find the surface area or lateral area of a given solid, whether it was a single solid or a composite figure.  Also, the problems required one to use the surface area to find other measurements of the solid.  After this, we started our discussion of volume but realized that the equation we've usually used: V = L*w*h only works for a rectangular prism, not for any other figure.

Homework:  Find a formula to represent the volume of a cylinder and other prisms.
