Geometry:
Today we learned about cross sections through an interactive website with the address:

We then found how the vertices, edges and faces relate to each other in a prism or a pyramid.

Today we reviewed Chapter 11 by playing war, an old card game.

Geometry:
Today we talked about solids, specifically with prisms, pyramids, cones and cylinders.  We found similarities between these solids, as well as differences.  We also talked about nets and how we imagine folding a figure along certain edges to create a solid.

Pre-Calculus:
We took our Section 11.3-11.4 Quiz.

Geometry:
We reviewed section 9.4, finding the area of a figure on a grid.  We then talked about geometric probability.

We reviewed section 11.1 and 11.2 to prepare for our quiz tomorrow that covers these sections.

Today we learned how to write a series using summation notation and also how to calculate a sum on a calculator.

Today we reviewed how to find the area of a polygon as well as took a quick quiz on the area of a trapezoid, rhombus and a kite.

We took a quick quiz today covering the area of a square, rectangle and a parallelogram.  We then derived the formula for the area of a regular polygon and then used that formula to derive the area of a circle.
